About the Classes
General information
Beading Classes are held in Bead Aura, Neal's Yard, London. All equipment and beads are supplied in the bead shop however you can always bring along your own supplies if you wish. Classes are an hour long. It is 22 pounds for a one-to-one class and 18 pounds per person if you bring a friend along for a group class. A deposit of 10 pounds is required to secure a class booking and the remainder of the fee is usually paid one the day of the class.
Apart from the topics below, classes can be quite flexible. If you know most of the basics, then more advanced ideas and techniques will be taught during the class. If you have made anything before, it may be a good idea to bring them along.
Beginner's to Jewellery-making
This class teaches all the basics to jewellery making. The lesson will cover the basic types of strings and threads available, how to use them, an introduction to the different finishes available and the how to work the different findings that are used to create jewellery and accessories.
Bead Weaving Basics
This class is slightly more advanced, assuming that you know the basics of jewellery-making, this class will cover a range of basic weaves that you can use and different designs that are available. Two hours is recommended for this class.
Creating Tiaras
This teaches you how to design and create tiaras using wire wrapping techniques.
Beginner's to Wire Works
This also assumes that you know the basics to jewellery-making. It will cover simple techniques to working with wire, the different types of wire available and how to apply these to create different accessories.
